How the rates work
Every rate is fetched as the value of one unit in US dollars. Converting A to B divides the two, so every pair, including obscure crosses, is consistent. The browser fetches rates directly from the providers: there is no ConvertEasy server in between, and nothing you type is sent anywhere.
Questions and answers
Where do the exchange rates come from?
Coinbase's public exchange-rate feed is the primary source for both fiat and crypto, refreshed every minute. CoinGecko fills in crypto prices, and currency-api (jsDelivr) and the European Central Bank via Frankfurter are fallbacks. No API key or account is involved.
Can I convert fiat to crypto and crypto to fiat?
Yes. Any pair works: USD to BTC, ETH to INR, SOL to EUR, or BTC to ETH.
Are these the rates my bank will give me?
No. They are mid-market reference rates. Banks, card networks and exchanges add a spread and fees.
Does it work offline?
Yes, using the last rates fetched, clearly labelled with when they were fetched.
